Mr Electrician is an Irish electrical contracting business operating from 31 branches in Cork, Dublin, Kerry, Kildare, Limerick, Louth, Meath, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow. We work on everything from a single dead socket in a Dublin flat to full rewires of period houses and planned maintenance for commercial premises.
The branch model exists for one reason: response time. An electrician dispatched from a base twenty minutes away gets to you faster than one crossing a county, and they already know the housing stock — which decade the estate was built, what wiring to expect behind the plaster, and which faults are common locally.
We are candid about what we are not. We are not the cheapest quote you will get. We do not do free fault-finding, because finding the fault is the skilled part of the job. And we will not tell you a job is an emergency when it is not.
Four things we will not compromise on.
Plenty of electrical faults are ugly but not dangerous, and some harmless-looking ones are. We will tell you which yours is, even when the honest answer is “that can wait six months”.
You get a figure before we start. If we open something up and the job genuinely changes, we stop and re-quote rather than adding it to the bill at the end.
Every electrician we send is qualified and works to I.S. 10101. Apprentices are supervised, and they do not sign off their own work.
Certification is not admin, it is the proof your installation is safe. It comes as standard, not on request.
Electrical work in Ireland is regulated. Certain categories — described as restricted works — must be carried out by a Registered Electrical Contractor and certified on completion. That includes new installations, rewires, consumer unit replacements and additions to existing circuits.
What that means for you as a customer is simple: if an electrician cannot give you a Completion Certificate for restricted work, something is wrong. Ask for it before you agree to anything, from us or anyone else.
